Enjoy an afternoon of amazing musical entertainment headlined by Grammy-nominated percussionist and singer Sheila E., while at the same time helping children in need.
The Oct. 18 event, which begins at 1 p.m., is a fundraiser for Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, one of the nation’s most comprehensive care facilities for youngsters experiencing mental health problems, behavioral problems, emotional problems, or social problems. Sheila E. will be joined by the legendary E. family, including her father, Latin jazz great Pete Escovedo and brothers, Juan and Peter Michael Escovedo.
This fall jazz festival, which will be held at Vista Del Mar’s West Los Angeles campus (3200 Motor Ave.), also will feature: platinum selling artist and six-time Grammy nominee, Dave Koz; multi-Grammy nominated recording artist and musical director Patrice Rushen; fusion composer, producer; jazz-funk drummer Leon (Ndugu) Chancler; actress and singer Sylvia Brooks; and award-winning base player Freddie Washington.
The event will be hosted by Pat Prescott from The Wave and will be joined by special guests, KTTV Fox 11 and KCOP My13 News Anchor, Christine Devine and 2009 National Adoption Day spokesperson, actress/writer/director, Nia Vardalos.
